OF LENOIR CITY
Our Missions
We participate in missionary work in a variety of ways, including "The Bees", a "Blessing Box", special missions, recurring monetary support, mission trips and support of a co-located Hispanic ministry.
Music Ministry
We have an outstanding music ministry with a choir that rehearses each Sunday morning following worship. The congregation sings traditional hymns each week accompanied by a wonderful and talented organist. But we also have a guitarist/soloist, a harpist, violinist and flautist all who make beautiful music to praise our Lord.
The guitarist/singer/songwriter element of the ministry is Jordan Burris, a member of the congregation. He plays usually twice a month and participates in the choir. The choir consists of about eight singers.
Youth Group
Our Youth Coordinator is Mason Warren and is supported with adults from the congregation. The youth meet each Wednesday at 4:30 to study, have fun, support and explore their faith together. The group also participates in church camps and mission projects.
The Bees
A group of ladies, members and non-members, meet weekly to make quilts, blankets, pillow covers, scarves, sleep mats, Easter gifts and Christmas gifts for shut-ins, nursing home patients and assisted-living residents. In terms of effort, this ministry is easily the biggest in our congregation.
The Blessing Box
Our "Blessing Box" is, physically, about 3' by 2' and mounted near the road in front of the church. Into it we put food, diapers, dog food, gloves, etc - whatever we think folks might need. We do not require any sort of identification or proof of need - if you need something, take it. It has been a blessing in more ways than just that, however, since people unassociated with our church stop and put in canned goods and other material because they think it's a wonderful idea. We have been very pleased with the success of this effort.

The Community Garden
Each spring our church prepares the land, provides (at no cost) garden plots and access to water to anyone wishing to grow their own food or flowers. Plots are 15' x 30'. Please contact the church if you would like a garden plot.
Special Missions
Each year the church elders prayerfully conider supporting a new mission and provide fundraising opportunities for the congregation to be involved.

Hispanic Ministry
The Iglesia Misericordia (Mercy Church), a Cumberland Presbyterian congregation, is not quite large enough to support themselves in a dedicated building. Our building is large enough to share; the Mercy Church helps us by sharing the cost of utilities and by helping in maintenance. Due to language difficulties our interactions are not as frequent as we might like, but we do the following together:

-
Christmas party
-
Fellowship events
-
Mission trips
-
Spanish as a second language
